Wynkoop: Burgers & Drinks in downtown Denver
Sometimes you just need a burger to satisfy your meat craving. Back in April, we had such a craving, and following a lovely PRSA Colorado event, we stopped by Wynkoop Brewery for dinner. We weren’t in the mood for anything fancy, just wanted something simple, flavorful, and filling. What we got was a fantastic and surprising meal!
To start, we ordered the fried pickles. Now normally, anytime we get fried pickles it’s the ones cut up, breaded, fried, and served with a blanket list of sauces and dips. These were huge! Full spears perfectly coated, fried, and served so hot that we actually had to wait a few minutes to cool before finally eating them! We’ve had lots of fried pickles, and these by far are the best we’ve ever had! I highly recommend you order these. You may not need any other of the amazing appetizers or soups depending on how hungry you are! Following the pickles, I also sampled a deliciously spicy Green Chili soup, and we closed out with two amazing bison burgers! Cooked to a perfect medium, each burger was huge, filling, and served hot with a side of homemade coleslaw.
For drinks, we both kept it fairly simple; scotch for me, and Wynkoop’s own Patty’s Chili Beer, which is a light Blonde Ale made with freshly roasted poblano and Anaheim peppers, along with smoked Gaujillo’s. It is a Wynkoop standard and was a 2006 Bronze medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival. When you’re looking for something new, something surprising, and just want something simple but done right, definitely stop over at Wynkoop Brewing Company in Downtown Denver. It’ll be worth it! Cheers!
